Bio

A prolific Chicago-based guitarist, composer and producer, Danny Shaffer first came into the spotlight as the teenage wunderkind side man to such Chicago legends as Tyrone Davis, Shadows of Night. In later years, lengthy stints as a guitarist with Kevin Lee (MCA) and Michael McDermott (EMI), along with a busy schedule as a first call session musician, led to a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music.

As a composer, Danny scored the Emmy-award winning PBS special Fables from the New School and The Golden Apple Awards just to name a few. In addition, he’s worked with numerous ad agencies on a number of national commercial ad campaigns including Burger King, Coca Cola, Coors and McDonald’s.

An accomplished music producer, engineer and mixer, Danny has produced, engineered and mixed many cutting edge artists including 2012 Golden Globe award recipient Julie Frost (The Wave), Chicago pop legends Frisbie (Subversive Sounds of Love), and the critically acclaimed Falling Wallendas (Patty Cake).

Danny’s latest music can be heard on MTV’s hit shows Jersey Shore (season 4 and 5) The Friendzone and Snooki & JWOWW (season 1 and 2). Other recent projects include the award winning Smithsonian Institute’s Alphabet Of Earth and Alphabet of Dance multimedia series.
